Currently, we are living in a world that is, at best, tense, and finding our peace is a daily struggle. In our lives, we are encouraged to, told, and at times, forced to continue as if nothing is happening or seriously wrong. In my practice, I provide space for open dialogue and a holistic approach to therapy, which encourages recovery and healing. In my over 17 years of working as a clinical social worker with youths and adults ranging from diverse & intersectional backgrounds, I have learned that the space we create together in combination with the relational work is the most important. My lived experiences allow me to acknowledge a wider perspective of society and the intersectional barriers faced by people from a wide range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. This informs the ways I provide support to individuals living with anxiety disorder, BPD, PTSD, depression, bipolar disorders, psychosis, chronic pain management, those affected by domestic abuse, trauma, marginalization, race-based PTSD, grief & bereavement.
I have obtained additional training and certifications, which enables me to offer the necessary support to individuals that I support. I work from holistic and strength-based perspectives, and I utilize a variety of counselling approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Supportive therapy, Solution-focused therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
I am a Compassion Fatigue Specialist, and I have a clinical certificate in trauma counselling. I have also been trained to provide Anger Management counselling, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation.

Hi, My name is Doreen. I am a Registered Social Worker and therapist with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree, and a Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma. I bring over four years of experience in hospital and community mental health, supporting people navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, chronic pain, burnout, and overwhelm, including those with concurrent disorders, trauma histories, and developmental disabilities. I provide neurodivergent-affirming care, helping people build skills, explore their identity, strengthen executive functioning, and feel more confident in their place in the world.

I have completed training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills, and Motivational Interviewing. Therapy may involve building practical coping strategies, exploring patterns in thoughts and emotions, clarifying values, and developing routines that feel more sustainable and aligned with your life. At the same time, I bring a flexible, integrative approach, weaving in mindfulness, experiential exercises, and reflective practices for those who prefer a more holistic or exploratory style.

As a Filipino-Canadian therapist, I am especially mindful of how culture, migration, family expectations, and stigma can shape mental health experiences. I strive to offer a space that is affirming, curious, and respectful of your lived experience particularly if you’ve felt pressure to carry things on your own or struggled with fitting in.

My therapeutic style is warm, relational, and engaged. I value building genuine connection while also offering structure and direction when it feels helpful. I am committed to ongoing learning and growth as a clinician, with a developing interest in somatic and body-based approaches to support healing from the bottom up.

If you’re looking for a therapist who is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in evidence-based practice, I would be honoured to support you.

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, especially when life already feels overwhelming. Many people come to therapy carrying stress, anxiety, grief, trauma, or simply the exhaustion of trying to hold everything together. In my work, I offer a space where you can slow down, take a breath, and show up as you are, and with no pressure.

I am a registered clinical social worker with both a Master’s degree and a Bachelor of Social Work, and I have spent over 20 years supporting youth and adults in hospital and community settings. Along the way, I have learned that therapy works best when it feels safe, genuine, and collaborative. I am deeply aware of how social, cultural, and systemic factors shape our well-being, and I work with people from diverse and intersectional backgrounds.

I support individuals navigating addictions, anxiety, OCD, depression/other mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, psychosis, chronic pain, grief and loss, anger management, domestic abuse, marginalization, and race-based trauma. I also provide affirming, neurodiversity-informed care for people with autism, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities, with an approach that honours each person’s strengths, needs, and lived experiences.

My work is holistic and strengths-based, and therapy is always tailored to your goals, your values, and your pace. I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and supportive counselling.

I am a Compassion Fatigue Specialist and hold a clinical certificate in trauma counselling, with additional training in anger management, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation.

At the heart of my work is a commitment to creating a safe, collaborative, and culturally responsive space where you feel seen and supported. You do not have to have everything figured out to begin; healing can start right where you are.
